Jose Vivar - JV Head Coach

Contact
Jose Vivar is entering his second year of his coaching career this season with the Ravens with great help from old friend/teammate Aaron Murphy. Jose was able to accomplish one life goal he was destined to reach. Jose has always wanted to get into coaching and is no stranger to the baseball world, starting his playing career at the age of 5 and never looking back. There were a few sports Jose played but nothing caught the attention like baseball did. Jose was born and raised in El Cajon where he attended Granite Hills High School and later went onto Grossmont College where baseball was the main focus. In 2024 Jose is delighted and proud to wear CCA Ravens and be the head coach for the JV team where he will continue to embrace the love for baseball, this time through teaching others and promoting hard work and valuable life skills.

Aside from being a coach, Jose Vivar is an accredited umpire covering youth to adult baseball officiating. Jose is also a current baseball player in the San Diego Adult Baseball League, and if that isn’t enough baseball for Jose, he has also worked at Petco park going back since 2020. It’s safe to say Jose has worn many “hats” but the coaching one has been his favorite. When asked, Jose is excited to become a seasoned coach like the rest of CCA coaching staff.

Jose is your typical San Diegan and during his free time away from baseball, Jose like’s to be surrounded by family, enjoying life often cruising the coast on a bike or skateboard. Jumping on a plane and traveling has been something Jose has been very fond of lately as well.
